Because life is hard!
Salutations my precious audience! Now, this is a sort of last minute change regarding my plans for this site in 2020, but I’ll try to be brief.
Throughout 2019, I experimented with my content a fair bit, introducing Rambles to take up the last Wednesday of a given month and permit me to put out one less game review on a monthly basis while still retaining my weekly schedule. And effective 2020, I will be reviewing even fewer games a month, with my total being 2 or 3 depending on how many Wednesdays are in the month. In the place of the now missing review, I will instead put up a Random, a short story based on a bizarre concept. Rambles will continue to be posted on the last Wednesday of every month, while Randoms will be posted on the second Wednesday of every month.
To provide an example, here is what the January 2020 Wednesday post schedule will look like:
January 1st, 2020: Video Game Review
January 8th, 2020: Random #006
January 15th, 2020: Video Game Review
January 22nd, 2020: Video Game Review
January 29th, 2020: Natalie Rambles About School
Or if you are especially curious, here is a list detailing my tentative schedule for posts in 2020. The list is divided by Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday content, with every Sunday being home to a weekly Rundown, as it has been for years.
Why am I changing my schedule, and planning on reviewing 12 fewer games in 2020? Well, I have several reasons. Full-time work mixed with studying for the Certified Public Accountant Exam will make my free time more valuable, limiting how much time I can invest into games on a daily basis. I am already planning on doing a lot in 2020 between re-editing 4 novels and making over 80 unique header images for all of them, so if I can lessen my workload, I will. I really enjoy writing Randoms, as I have a lot of ideas that I want to explore within the context of a short story. And I am getting positively sick of neglecting bigger games in favor of smaller ones that I don’t especially enjoy, but serve as content stocking stuffers. I started Rambles in 2019 to get away from this habit of mine, but clearly a more drastic action needs to be taken.
Sorry if this change upsets you, but this is the best way I can think of to keep my output regular while lessening my personal workload.
