Rundown (1/06-1/12) Destiny is Destiny and Destiny is Free!

While I have admittedly given the western AAA industry the cold shoulder of indifference and apathy this past generation, I have been, obviously, keeping an eye on it and one of the more interesting titles to come out of the industry this generation was Destiny.  A highly anticipated title that was met with a middling critical reception before strong arming the idea of live services into the popular consciousness and also popularizing the numbers driven “Looter Shooter” genre.  Following that, it’s development and expansion was just plain old bizarre with voice actors being replaced, the story being fragmented as all heck, a bunch of dirtbag monetization tactics that were introduced in its sequel, quality going up and down sporadically, and dozens of millions of units being sold, because of course they were.

Rundown (8/13-8/19) I’m a Weird Sonic Fan

Some might be wondering if I will be reviewing Sonic Mania soon, as its PC version will be coming out on August 29th, but I am not planning on reviewing it for quite a while, as I often wait for games to go on sale and such.  I will get to it eventually, and will hopefully enjoy it, despite it being pretty obvious by now that I am part of the generation who genuinely prefers the 3D games over the 2D games.  I mean, I like them so much that I have done some concept work for a story that “homages” Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, and I was more excited to hear this new track from the rapper behind the Knuckles stage themes for Sonic Adventure 2 than I was for anything pertaining to Sonic Mania.  I guess you could say a weird Sonic fan that way. Rundown (3/26-4/01) The Fool’s Day is Rubbish and Cruel

Over the past two weeks, I’ve been picking away at Gender Bender DNA Twister Extreme, and I’m honestly dreading the review I’ll have to write for the game, more so than anything else I ever had to review in the five years I’ve been doing this schtick.  The reason for that being just how bad and good the game can be.  Some part of it are genuinely good, interesting, or funny, while others are poorly constructed, nonsensical, frustrating, or just saddening.  It’s really hard to say anything definitive about any aspect of the game because of this, and I’m dreading how long my review of the game will be when I review it on April 12th. Rundown (11/29-12/05) NDR3NSEK+TGA+PSX

0 DR2 Fuck Yeah alright here we go now get hyped energy to the maxSo, I’m currently replaying Final Fantasy XIII, because I felt I had unfinished business with that game, and I am thoroughly amazed that the creators were able to tolerate their creation.  As a writer, there is so much about this game’s story that drives me nuts, and I cannot believe that 65 million was invested into such a lackluster story.  That, and the gameplay’s auto battle system simply does not work as it is told to—  I’ll save it for the review proper, for now, The Game Awards and the Playstation Experience both happen, so here is a rundown of some of those things. Rundown (10/18-10/24) The Super Sexual Anthropomorphized Doughnut BBW Fart Queen

0 Henneko Hey Sexy Boy There is a TOn of Poverty and destruction in the world Enjoy this pornSo, I didn’t pay much attention to it after its launch, it’s flaccid whimpering launch, but it was pretty obvious to everybody that something bad happened in the Bundie offices when this turkey was being baked.  So Kotaku, a site I visit so seldomly I do not know what the front page looks like, did a neat little piece on the development of the Destiny: Part 1 or Dest1ny if you are somebody who found out about 1337-speak in 2007, and still thinks it’s kinda cool…    Continue reading

Rundown (8/02-8/08) I Would Like Some Friends…

0 Watamote The Unwanted Hug of friendhsip via mascot manSo, Comiket 88 was held in Japan this week, the week of Gamescom, and it naturally had a very spiffy showcase of Doujin games, some very meh looking, others on par with content the lower to mid tier Japanese developers put out.  However, I will not be able to play most of them because the world is still greatly divided by languages, when this shit should have been figured out years ago.  I’m not saying that English should be the default for the world, as English is a pretty poor language in my book, but I feel that everybody in a developed part of the world should be able to speak a global language as a second language, while most media would be produced in that language to maximize the audience size, and slowly weed out old languages.  Now, some people say that a wide variety of languages helps encourage differences in the world and allow people to think differently.  I say that while there may be some truth there, some things need to be sacrificed in order for the world to progress and become more understanding.  I mean, it could actually help global understanding of others quite a bit if you design the language properly and based on the pros and cons of other languages. Rundown (1/04-1/10) Dial Doctor Genocider ‘Cos I’m a Lazy Girl

0 MLM Murder KareokeWork is my reason for not doing a game review last week, and I will be sure that I have one ready this week, and probably two the week after, as I will dive into the visual novel bin upon completing Dark Souls.  I have not been in the mood to write after waking up at 6:30, being put on a train, working for seven to eight hours, and then going on another train, arriving back home ten hours later, and only having about six hours before I gotta go to do my bedtime stuff.
