Rundown (11/11-11/17) Welcome Impromptu Hiatus!

So, remember how a few weeks ago I talked about how my schedule was going to get out of wack in the future?  Well, it will get out of wack for a while, but not for the reasons I mentioned. Quite simply, my mother fell and damaged her arm, so I need to help out around the house a lot more while she heals, limiting my free time after work or school, and especially on weekends, when I need to help with the shopping, cooking, and cleaning.  That not being enough, I am getting absolutely wrecked by projects at school, where I am getting incredibly anxious about the lot of them. I hope to have things in a more stable condition by December, but until then, reviews are on hiatus, as I simply cannot comfortably play games while trying to juggle all of this rubbish.  Also, today is my 24th birthday, and I am celebrating it by making food and doing accounting homework instead of relaxing and playing Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee like I originally plannedHell, I doubt I’ll even touch the game, or any game for that matter, until after American Thanksgiving.

Rundown (6/11) E3 2017: Return of the Busiest Time in My Life

E3 has begun, and thankfully the duties have been spread apart this year, with the previously mostly vacant Sundays are now being used by two major press conferences.  Meaning that I only have three more to go after pushing out this post right at the cusp of midnight because Bethesda thinks it is good to have a press conference at 9 PM PST.  Also, the title of this post is not a lie.  I do more work per day during the Monday and Tuesday of E3 than I do during any other time during the year.  Especially this year, as I have to work and attend class while E3 is going on.  Anyways, on with the rundown. Continue reading

Rundown (6/04-6/10) PRE3 2017: Lower Your Expectations for Maximum Happiness!

Well, it’s the middle of June, and you know what that means.  It’s time for the Electronic Entertainment Expo.  Yes, an event full of announcements, dubious trailers, and manufactured hype.  I could be cynical about the whole thing, as it is ultimately one big commercial, but I always have a good time zealously devoting my attention to the event and working hours on end to provide write-ups on just about everything announced, while giving my own opinion on them and each conference.  Yet as is always the case, pre-E3, or PRE3 as I like to call it, is in full effect, so let’s just go for it! Continue reading

Rundown (2/05-2/11) Time Travel Is Always a Mistake

tired-link-by-brellom…The Hero is Defeated timeline in the Legend of Zelda annoys me.  I understand the need for a timeline where Ganondorf ran free only to eventually be sealed by the seven sages without the help of Link, but there is an easier way to reach that conclusion.  They could follow the rule of time travel that, whenever something foreign enters a new timeline, it causes that timeline to split off and allows for a new timeline to be created.  So when Link travels to the future, he could end up splitting the timeline just by arriving there.  So in A Link to the Past, the hero could have just never arrived. Rundown (6/13) E3 2016: Your Ambition Is Irrelevant

Overstimulated

There is a lot of content to cover, so let’s jump right into it.  A rundown detailing the E3 2016 presentations of Microsoft, PC Gamer and AMD, Ubisoft, and Sony.  There’s a stupid amount of content to cover, and simply getting all of this done in one day has proved to be quite the challenge.  So let’s go! Continue reading

Rundown (6/12) E3 2016: Boiling Points of Many Emotions

CookingWith a slew of leaks and early reveals out of the way, E3 has finally begun.  By which I mean that EA is holding an event outside of E3 around the same time.  The ever expanding Bethesda is getting early coverage by going one day before the press conferences traditionally begin.  While Kadokawa games, a growing publisher that isn’t even having a proper press conference, just a private media briefing…  Whatever, that’s good enough for me. Continue reading

Rundown (2/07-2/13) Pokemon Generation VII Coming Soon

0 P4G I have no redeeming qualities so let me just kill die like a good girlYada, yada, I should go see a psychiatrist, as I have been depressed at some point every day for the past three weeks or so. I’ve been hating myself and what I do for years now, and have been drowning my sorrows in things I enjoy for most of my life. Now I’ve gotten cynical to the point where even the idea of Pokemon Generation VII causes me to roll my eyes. Continue reading

Rundown (1/31-2/06) Yeah, This is Not Funny Anymore

come_on_guys_by_ONATSo, it was just pointed out to me that it is grammatically incorrect to add two spaces after a sentence, when I have been doing that for the past six years because one of my teachers told me so and nobody pointed it out to me. I’m also dealing with an incredible amount of hatred towards my own work and livelihood, and am genuinely considering going to see a therapist or psychiatrist. Also, this header image was made by ONAT. Continue reading

Rundown (1/24-1/30) Time Moves Forward, Nothing Changes

Laxy Nep by GebbyYeah, still not too happy with just about anything in my stupid little life…  Time to talk about the video game industry!  Also here’s the source for the header image.  The artist, Ge-B, is pretty fantastic, and you should check her out. Continue reading

Rundown (6/17-6/20) E3 2015: Video Games Were a Mistake; They’re Nothing but Trash

0 Charming

For the record, the title is just a bit of a joke on my part, as are most of my Nigmabox Rundown titles.  This E3 was pretty good as a whole, and had more diversity in general. More games of more types and there were some really nifty announcements as well.  It was a fun time that did have some industry BS, but at least it was at a lower level than it had been the past few years.   Continue reading

Rundown (6/15) E3 2015: I’m a Stealthy Little Office Lady!

Vain

You can easily decipher this title, right?

Okay, so, I am working full time this summer, for those who do not know, or just stumbled onto this post, and that means I cannot spend all day in E3 mode.  It makes my nights very hectic, as I try to pick up the piece right after getting home, but I went through Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, and Sony’s press conferences, amounting to over five hours of footage, while writing up some quick thoughts on the opinions on the video games, as I have been doing since 2012.  Without further ado, I’ll just get right to it. Continue reading

Rundown (6/14) E3 2015: Solid Fap Interactive Softworks

0 Gross

You are an ignorant fool if you deny the inherent sexiness of a lizard!

I really do love E3 as an event.  Well, not in regards to actually going there, as it’s an awful physical place that is hot, loud, smells like an armpit, and is so chaotic in its construction that it is hard for anybody to get anything done.  The actual press conferences are speeches to investors, casual observers, and the gaming community at large that often stir up disappointment and mockery while stirring up the needless hype the industry is built upon, but there is pretty much always something wonderful and worth talking about hidden beyond the bullcrap.  It’s kinda shitty when you get down to it, but it is so much fun to follow, especially when taking it all in with friends, or with an eye on your Twitter feed. Rundown (5/17-5/23) Apologies and Lies

0KillTIme Merge to form new character captain planet why the bunny bear super sentai combineI am working on a review for Saints Row IV, was going to publish it on Friday, but I got stuck on how to transition from one point to another, while on Saturday I got a headache and decided to play through all of Portal 2 in a single day.  Saints Row review will be up this week, Portal 2 the next, then D4, and Neptunia Re;Birth 2 sometime… after E3, probably.  That schedule actually sounds better than I thought it would, so, yeah, let’s do that! Rundown (5/10-5/16) I Don’t Care About My Privacy

0 KLK COme at me bro I isn't afraid of anything will duke it out for all eternity great justice is my name asskinking is my gameI finished another semester of college, and probably have a ton more to go through in the future.  My goals were a bit obstructed by improper information, so I’m going to probably end up with a duo of Associate’s degrees for Liberal Arts and Accounting.  Another two years of Accounting at a real college may come next, but from what I heard that may not be necessary.  I can just get a CMA and explore my options with that and a few years of bookkeeping experience.  Also, I realized that I should not buy hormones without talking to a doctor, but that would require coming out as Genderqueer, and, yeah, that would be a super awkward and terrible time that may ruin everything forever… Continue reading

Rundown (4/26-5/02) Cut Off My Balls, I Don’t Need Them

0 Mayonaka no X Giten cut off your balls because that would be a fun trans girl man woman thing to do masturbateI was going to make a post on NeoGaf about how I spent about 1.5k on games over the past two years, but ended up getting nearly 300 games in the end.  However, I chickened out and could not bare to put my thoughts on a message board, because that is a great way to get murdered.  I also bought a Chromebook so I could type things instead of sleeping while on the train, and am looking into buying some hormones because I should start HRT sooner than later.  It won’t be a full gender transition or anything like that, as I think I’d be the most comfortable being Genderqueer.
