Wherein I discuss why I should never gamble with legal tender, sexual misconduct amidst the largest game publisher in the world, a deadly representational misstep, and Paper Mario making me sad.
As some of you may have noticed, over this past week I have been changing bits and pieces of this site around in an attempt to clean up the residual rubbish that pops up when running a website for… over 6 years. Now, this is really just a change in title, the removal of old (bad) content, and little else, as I am still going to be updating this site with reviews, rundowns, and the occasional novel. If anything, this is a change made to facilitate this site’s future, as after spending the better half of a decade fumbling through this wackadoo writing experiment devised by 17-year-old me, there are some things that I really should revise. I would also want to change the theme, but a lot of the alternative offerings are lacking in what I want, so I’m going to just stick with the theme I copied from Divine Intervention. For now anyways. It’s no secret that I take many inspirations when writing my stories, and most of the time the inspiration is rather obscure, and therefore hard to identify. Even for me. However, I recently reread an erotic manga by the name of Trans Venus, and realized that I basically copied its core concept for no less than three of my stories. My Life As Abigale Quinlan, Terrance & Urabe’s Alien Assassination Adventure, and The Malice of Abigale Quinlan. All of these stories involve a formerly male protagonist who is unwillingly placed inside of the body of a coy and condescending woman with immense powers, and is forced to listen to the woman’s banter throughout the story. That is basically the core concept behind Trans Venus, and I had no awareness of this while I was writing these stories, as I barely remembered the manga. Also, here’s the link to the fan translation in case you’re curious. NSFW warning.(more…)
I am still working on my second proper novel, The Malicious Abigale Quinlan, in case you are wondering. Development has been a little hectic to be honest, but after rewroking certain parts of the story while keeping the core events the same, I feel I will be able to finish writing it by year’s end. Although, I will need to do some editing afterwards, which will take me about a month or so. Alright, onto a #FucKonami piece. (more…)
Work is my reason for not doing a game review last week, and I will be sure that I have one ready this week, and probably two the week after, as I will dive into the visual novel bin upon completing Dark Souls. I have not been in the mood to write after waking up at 6:30, being put on a train, working for seven to eight hours, and then going on another train, arriving back home ten hours later, and only having about six hours before I gotta go to do my bedtime stuff.
