Rundown (10/01-10/07) My Dear’s Danganronpa Dilemma

Over this past week I have been making my way through Danganronpa V3 while my significant other has been doing the same.  We have been discussing the game in detail as we continued our parallel playthroughs, and during that discussion, they revealed that they did not know that you could save during a class trial.  They assumed that a massive portion of a game, one part of a portable game series, would arbitrarily prohibit saving, and require players to rush through the entire 2+ hour trial in a single session.  They somehow never figured this out despite playing Danganronpa 1 and 2, as theynever opened the menu over the span of 20+ hours of class trials in those games.  This baffled me so much that I could not stop myself from sharing it. Rundown (2/14-2/20) Somebody Be My Friend and Be My Side!

1 Unknown Video Games Real Life…Yeah, not much to talk about this week. Yes, Kojima teased some fans by appearing at DICE 2016, and the launch of Street Fighter V upset a lot of people who did not expect the bare minimum from a game that will be built over the next four or five years. XCOM 2, which apparently is set after a failed run of Enemy Unknown, is apparently really buggy, and Sega gave away a bunch of Steam games because they felt like it. The Division had a beta that some people really enjoyed, even though I see little to no appeal in its general gameplay loop, and some other stuff happened, not much of it very interesting. Rundown (11/29-12/05) NDR3NSEK+TGA+PSX

0 DR2 Fuck Yeah alright here we go now get hyped energy to the maxSo, I’m currently replaying Final Fantasy XIII, because I felt I had unfinished business with that game, and I am thoroughly amazed that the creators were able to tolerate their creation.  As a writer, there is so much about this game’s story that drives me nuts, and I cannot believe that 65 million was invested into such a lackluster story.  That, and the gameplay’s auto battle system simply does not work as it is told to—  I’ll save it for the review proper, for now, The Game Awards and the Playstation Experience both happen, so here is a rundown of some of those things. Rundown (10/25-10/31) Sophisticated Sadism, Silliness, Schizophrenia, and Savagery

0 Mari freak on a leash mosnter devil demon destyer bad omen death to all who oppose me welcome to the abyss of dieBecause I’m a complete idiot, I keep on thinking about the design documentation for a game idea that I’ve had for a couple of months.  A sandbox game with destructible… everything, where you play as a schizophrenic shapeshifting demigod who switches between four core personality types depending on how the player wishes to have them act.  What do you do?  Absorb people, disguise yourself as them, cause domestic disputes, and war crimes of just about every caliber as you destroy a futuristic city designed after the late 20th century that automatically rebuilds itself whenever you destroy it, and people respawn.  It would cost millions to make, and as such will never exist.  A body swap centered visual novel, however, that I can probably do by myself if I hire an artist.  Or I could just use Eroge sprites like Student Transfer or Press Switch.  Both of which I’ll review come their next build. Rundown (9/27-10/03) Rundown CXXXIV: The Darkening

0 KLK Everybody's getting scary I don't know about this guys I am freaking out here spooky skelemenI should probably bring up how Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 is quite the turd of a game from what I can tell.  With a Metacritic of 36 on the PS4 and a… 48 on XBO?  I thought that the XBO version wouldn’t work for some people because the game is so terribly made and needs a patch bigger than the game itself to, presumably, even run.  Bad framerate, textures, physics, and general game feel all make it a title that will likely just be an ash can project made to renew a license that Activision probably only spent a few million making and shat out the door six months too early…  Not that I really care about the series though, I just like the soundtracks of the first four games and that’s it. Rundown (9/13-9/19) TGS 2015: Darkest Despair!

0 PL Japan Breasts Woman FanserviceI’m not sure how often I’ve brought this up, but I think that Free to Play games were among the worst things to happen to the industry in recent years, and there have been a lot since I got in this industry’s intestines, mostly the large one, where poop is dried out, around 2006.  But after reading this little piece by somebody who has been getting neck deep in whale blood as his employers tried to manipulate individuals with mental problems for the sexiest thing in the mortal world, Kentucky granola, also known as USD, I feel I have an opportunity that I shall not waste, if only because I love the line and it is mostly true.  Free to play games were a mistake; they’re nothing but trash.  I hope they are outlawed by 2033, when the Great African War begins and half of it is destroyed by a nuclear explosion.  Buy War Bonds in preparation of the war to end all wars! Rundown (9/06-9/12) Chronologically Correct Sonic OSTs

0 DR I have no fanfic bigotry jerk fuckwit good girlI am surprised that Sega has not tried to shut down Sonic World, as it is basically a refined and reworked best-of compilation of Sonic Adventure 1, 2, and Heroes, all games I grew up with and love in a way, even if they don’t play very well.  But seeing that combined with enough care and autistic fan devotion to add in every possible playable character from Heavy and Bomb to Fang the Sniper makes me jitter in sheer disbelief that this is real.  True, I only played two levels of the game as Knuckles before I realized that this game was definitely still in an alpha or pre-alpha state and put it down, but if it is ever completed, this fan-game may very well be the best Sonic game. Rundown (8/23-8/29) pornography_is_destructive.mp3

PornoSo some Japanese company made an Oculus Rift game where you fuck a balloon in a schoolgirl uniform to simulate sex.  Yeah.  That’s honestly perfectly fine in my book.  I’d rather have pronography be very clearly labeled as such while having next to no artistic merit, and simply be shameless in fulfilling the sexual urges of humans.  It’s better than any eroge that dares to have any artistic value, as it is being made for masturbatiory purposes.  I’d much rather have sex scenes in visual novels that you can censor if you enter a code, so it is clear you are playing it for the story… Yeah, this is a complicated issue I should not be addressing in the opening like this. Rundown (8/02-8/08) I Would Like Some Friends…

0 Watamote The Unwanted Hug of friendhsip via mascot manSo, Comiket 88 was held in Japan this week, the week of Gamescom, and it naturally had a very spiffy showcase of Doujin games, some very meh looking, others on par with content the lower to mid tier Japanese developers put out.  However, I will not be able to play most of them because the world is still greatly divided by languages, when this shit should have been figured out years ago.  I’m not saying that English should be the default for the world, as English is a pretty poor language in my book, but I feel that everybody in a developed part of the world should be able to speak a global language as a second language, while most media would be produced in that language to maximize the audience size, and slowly weed out old languages.  Now, some people say that a wide variety of languages helps encourage differences in the world and allow people to think differently.  I say that while there may be some truth there, some things need to be sacrificed in order for the world to progress and become more understanding.  I mean, it could actually help global understanding of others quite a bit if you design the language properly and based on the pros and cons of other languages. Rundown (7/19-7/25) *Insert Vaguely Threatening and Concerning Line Here*

0 Boy Meets Girl, Girl Meets Boy huh what awkward why the fuck not they are both touching their cocksWhen it comes to writing, for whatever reason my brain feels like an old piece of toast on this faithful day, and I never prepare an introductory bit for Nigmabox Rundowns… So I’ll just get on with it and post the page and a half I’ve been gradually building over the course of the past week. Rundown (7/12-7/18) A Disgrace to the Glorious Name of Autism

0 Watamote The fuck you talking about porn bikes you neet go get shot you idiot why you existSo, I was hoping to start building a new computer soon, but my mother told me that I should put away 60-70% of my money instead of fifty-something, so that brought my funds down by about $600, so it will take a while to build up the additional $750 or so… I’m going to need to deal with my current computer for a while while trying to maximize my frugalness to avoid feeling a level of despair and inferiority, although I totally deserve that for being a disgrace to the glorious name of Autism.  At least the state of Illinois is willing to pay for my college education and help me get a real full time adult job in a few years ‘cos my Autism is 100% official now. Rundown (7/05-7/11) Miscellaneous Mildly Angry Grumbling

0 Yamada thanks for fucking everything up you miserable piece of shit fuck off and die in a fire leech on society's buttholeYes, my Punch Line review is still not done, I got frustrated with writing it and recently just finished the initial draft of my novel, Verde’s Doohickey, so I decided to put it off.  Verde’s Doohickey is a story I am aiming to release on August 31st, probably sooner, but I still need to edit those 50,000 words.  I’ll also get a game review out next week, and have been starting therapy.  What have you been doing at the weekend?  I’ve been organizing my stupidly constructed music library I barely touch.  *Dies in a fire* Continue reading

Rundown (6/15) E3 2015: I’m a Stealthy Little Office Lady!

Vain

You can easily decipher this title, right?

Okay, so, I am working full time this summer, for those who do not know, or just stumbled onto this post, and that means I cannot spend all day in E3 mode.  It makes my nights very hectic, as I try to pick up the piece right after getting home, but I went through Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, and Sony’s press conferences, amounting to over five hours of footage, while writing up some quick thoughts on the opinions on the video games, as I have been doing since 2012.  Without further ado, I’ll just get right to it. Rundown (12/07-12/13) You’re Suppose to Think Gasses Man Is a Bigot

0 Rain Transexual Transgender and all that other crap in one bitOkay, so, my next novella, A Vile Doohickey, I am aiming for a Christmas release with it.  I am nearly finished with editing, and just need to whip up some author’s comments, put it together, and post it before the 25th… And the next novella will probably take half a year to be completed, as I will need to do a lot of pre production.  Why?  I basically want to set the grounds for something where I can reuse a cast of characters in a wide variety of scenarios, all of which can be justified.  That said, I need to get everything organized, think it through five times, and do that before writing what is basically tg body horror about a young man turning into my interpretation of the Public Domain character Vivian James… Yes, I am still going to do it! Rundown (11/30-12/06) Make a Wish and It Will Demolish Your Butt!

0 GUP Let's Do This And Go Home. GrumbleI am not in the mood to write an intro right now.  I am hindered from a lack of sleep, am finishing up this semester of school, and am trying to get myself to edit A Vile Doohickey, when I keep on searching for distractions.  I’ll edit chapter five after this goes public, so… here is an unimportant blurb about two mid-sized events in the video game industry.

Rundown (6/11-6/14) E3 2014: The Mopping of Lost Souls

0KLK Because of that we are soul sisters and don't you forget it broskyE3 has come and gone for the year, returning next time for event number 21 during June 15th to 18th, but that is too far away to remember.  Instead, it is enough to remember everything that happened, and what happened outside of the press conferences.  That is what this post is for, but it also covers unrelated events that occurred at the same time, because that’s just efficient.  I am sure to be missing a lot as I fixate on the things I care about, but here are my Krimskrams of information as always.
