Rundown (3/17-3/23) Gaming Distribution Cataclysm

If this past week is any indication, I think one of the biggest issues that will permeate throughout gaming this upcoming generation is the matter of games distribution.  This was originally a fairly simple concept, but with digital distribution growing in popularity, many game companies have been looking for ways to have the means of distribution better serve them by creating their own platforms or signing exclusivity deals in order to lessen the risk associated with launching any kind of product.  While this sort of thing typically results in the establishment of a diverse and competitive marketplace that ultimately benefits the consumer in the long run, in the short run it creates a very hectic environment where the consumer is put in a place of uncertainty and inconvenience as they need to choose what platform they’re going to invest their time and money into.

Rundown (2/26-3/04) Welcome to the Future, Kid

future-linkSo, at GDC this past week, some Nintendo developers showed off Hyrule Wars From The Legend of Zelda, a scrapped concept for Breath of the Wild that had aliens invading the land of Hyrule, also called Legend of Zelda: Invasion.  It’s a very peculiar concept to say the least, and featured concept art of what looks to be Ganondorf in a Metallica shirt, and concept sketches of Link in modern clothing riding on a motorcycle.  I know people are giving Breath of the Wild all the felacio its bulbous appendage can handle, but I would be far more interested in playing a Zelda game with a differing aesthetic rather than one I am am more likely to hate than love due to mechanical changes that freak me the flip out. Nyarko Crazy Insane Nuts NonsenseI’m genuinely worried about how I’ll be able to manage my time going forward, as I have recently begun school once more, and now lack a job where I can easily find the time to work on my stories, reviews, or weekly rundowns like these, as I just left my job for the past two years in favor of a better paying one that doesn’t have me wake up at 6:30 in the morning.  Also, I now have a friend to interact with every day.  Welcome to this crazy time indeed, hopefully I will learn how to manage the chaos of this dysfunctional system. Rundown (4/24-4/30) I’m A Busy Little T-Girl

WhassupApologies for not getting a Hyperdevotion Noire review up.  Work, school, and family stuff all cut into the time I could put into that game.  Review should be up tomorrow evening.  Also, on May 31st I will (hopefully) release a novella I’m currently working on called Maple Loves Senpai.  It’s a story about a Japanese schoolgirl who gets absorption powers and is guided by the voice of her lover to consume people in order to transform herself into his ultimate waifu.  Many stereotypes and dark themes ensue.   Continue reading

Rundown (6/16) E3 2015: It’s Over and I’m Not Particularly Happy…

And E3 is done… Kinda.  Yes, I know the first proper day just happened, but after the press events, my work is mostly done, and 90% of the announcements are out of the way.  It’s just impressions from here on out, which is just dandy in my book.  However, Nintendo, Square Enix, and AMD all had press conferences, so I’ll just get to explaining what the blazes they were about, and what my Autistic mind thought about them. Rundown (2/01-2/07) Hyperdimension Neptunia Xtreme Victory II: Lavindation of Crystalia

2015-02-08_00041So, I didn’t look too much into the whole Nintendo creator program last week, and assumed that Nintendo did get their stuff straight when it comes to wanting free promotion on the world’s leading internet video platform.  But instead they very much force people into corners if they wish to make money by doing, say, a let’s play of one of their titles, which is foolish at best.  I’ve been following the LP community back before it blew up as much as it has, and I have to say that the process is pretty time consuming, and the need to remain humorous and witty towards a game, especially when doing live commentary does take some work.  Also, you know, they are showing gameplay of a title, and chances are that those who watch a title they think they may enjoy and have disposable income will purchase the title in question, thus getting you more than the paltry sum that ad revenue can get you.   Continue reading

0Press Switch Take your friendship and shove it up someone else's ass you fucker I don't need any social interactions or anything like that NEET 4 ev RTake an article about visual novels from a company named Overdrive, had the header mention sex, and my mind will instantly go to a track from the mashup album Katamari Da-Emcee that is a mix of WANDA WANDA and a song by the name of “Ass Everywhere”, creatively titled “butts everywhere”.  While that is happening, I have a tab open containing a body swap story, paused my massive Danganronpa screenshot renaming project, am listening to an episode of The Comedy Button, which I paid for, and am debating if I should write about Arkham City, play Contrast, or work on A Vile Doohickey some more.  Damn it feels good to be a Nigma, whatever the hell that means!
